See the Natural History of the Southwest with a Summer National Park Tour

Are you headed to Las Vegas for a getaway? If you think your vacation will only be slot machines and showgirls, think again. Some of the most stunning desert scenery in America surrounds Las Vegas and it’s easy to make a three-day national park tour part of your itinerary.

Zion National Park

Zion National Park is home to some of the most magnificent landscapes in the southwest. The Virgin River created the deep canyons over millions of years as it flowed over the native sandstone. Many areas of the park are lush with hanging gardens and waterfalls and wildflowers line the trails in spring. There are walks and hikes throughout the park ranging from gentle to difficult. Some of the most famous attractions at Zion National Park are the Temple of Sinawava, the Emerald Pools, and the Great White Throne. You can also get a more in-depth look at the park with a ranger-led talk at the museum.

Monument Valley

Monument Valley lies on the Utah-Arizona border and is part of the Navajo Nation Reservation. In more recent history, this spectacular desert scenery has been the rugged backdrop for many western movies. The red, sandy desert is sparsely dotted with craggy buttes and mesas that protrude from the desert floor. Some parts of Monument Valley are only accessible via tour led by the Navajo Nation. You can even visit a traditional Navajo market in Monument Valley.

Yellowstone

This one’s not quite in the Southwest but we just couldn’t help but add it to our list. Yellowstone was the first national park in the U.S. and is also widely held to be the first national park in the world. Yellowstone National Park spans 3-states including Wyoming, Idaho, and Montana. The park is known for its wildlife and its many geothermal features, especially Old Faithful Geyser, one of its most popular features. Brushbuck Wildlife tours offer a wide variety of Yellowstone tours which is the best way to experience all of Yellowstone National Park.

The Grand Canyon

Winding through the Painted Desert, you’ll make your way to one of the most famous natural landmarks in the world- The Grand Canyon. Carved over millions of years by the Colorado River, the Grand Canyon is now one of the world’s natural wonders. The area has served as the home to numerous Native American tribes over the past several thousand years. Be as active as you like on your Grand Canyon tour from Las Vegas. Walk around the rim of the Canyon to take in the striking views or hike to the bottom. You can also see the Grand Canyon from the air with a helicopter tour. No matter how you see it, don’t miss the incredible beauty of the Grand Canyon. Our three-day national parks tour includes these highlights, plus a visit to Bryce National Park.
